"I bet that 90% of bikers only need to have an all-in-one e-bike to take them wherever and do whatever they want!" said Lai, one of our designers at the ASYNC Design Studio, on one winter morning in 2022 while sipping coffee.
That marked the beginning of the ASYNC H7.
The "H" in the H7 stands for "Hybrid". We envisioned this bike to offer users a marvelous blend of experiences: commuting, exercise, outdoor enjoyment, off-road trails, exploring urban corners—a fusion of electric and human-powered riding, melding elegant and sleek design with robust performance, seamlessly integrating exceptional mechanical components with Smart IoT. It might sound a bit ridiculous, but that's exactly what the ASYNC TEAM set out to achieve with this model.
Truth be told, we sketched countless designs and took many detours before we finally grasped the key to the project.
Some concept sketches for the H7 Project at early stage
First and foremost, we were certain about needing a powerful mid-drive motor. The Ananda M100 proved to be an excellent choice. With its 500W version boasting 130n.m of torque, even the 250W standard version provides 110n.m. With over 100,000 units shipped, this motor is both stable and reliable. Its integrated torque sensor and responsive controller make it incredibly sensitive. With it, you'll feel like the wheels are an extension of your body. Oh, and it's remarkably quiet too—during leisurely rides, you might even forget it's there!
Next up, the battery and range. We required a removable, large battery for easy charging, especially for users residing in apartments. In 99% of bike models, the battery ends up in the lower tube, resulting in a bulky and inelegant frame. After much consideration, we found the optimal spot for the 960Wh battery: above the mid-drive motor. This not only granted the H7 an unprecedented low center of gravity but also perfect maneuverability. What an amazing surprise!
Engineers are studying the frame structure of H7
Now, to realize this innovative layout, an ordinary aluminum frame wouldn't meet the strength and weight requirements. Our attention turned to a Carbon Fiber frame. As a result, the H7 boasts a high-tech, sleek, optimized, lightweight, durable frame that absorbs road vibrations. The unmatched strength of Carbon Fiber allowed us to design a one-sided frame, enabling easy battery access from the other side. Along the way, we also gained a customizable magnetic cover—yet another surprise!
With the most critical part sorted, we equipped the H7 with an exceptional front suspension system. The Suntour XCR340 provides 120mm of travel, sufficient for most off-road trails. The Shimano Deore 11-speed shafting system, combined with the motor's potent torque, turns every uphill into level ground. Of course, we also added Maxxis all-terrain tires to explore every place you desire.

Lastly, let's infuse soul into the body—embed IoT and a smart display carefully into the remaining compact space of the frame. The upper tube is a perfect spot to accommodate all of this. Press the power button, and the dashboard lights up. It's time to enjoy it all.
